2020-12-14

According to industry sources, due to increased supply and weak seasonal demand, China's LED chip prices are expected to fall by 10% in the fourth quarter of 2018, resulting in a 20-30% year-on-year decline in prices in 2018.

Epistar , headquartered in Taiwan, China also said that the actual shipments received in the fourth quarter of 2018 were much less than in the previous quarter. However, Epistar said that the company will not lower the offer to get more orders, but is ready to adjust the idle production equipment to prepare for the launch of new products in 2019.

According to relevant research data, Chinese LED chip manufacturers will add more than 300 MOCVD equipment, equivalent to the capacity of 1.45 million LED epitaxial wafers per month in 2018, most of which are expected to be put into operation in 2019. As a result, the monthly production capacity of Chinese manufacturers in 2019 is expected to reach 3.45 million LED epitaxial wafers.
